If NT BOX of your don't see it as no new hardware at all then you check your NT box in control options that USB controllers etc are installed and enabled in it.
Do you have any other USB based product running on your PC then plug this scanner into that USB hub, that will show if problem is of hardware based or software based.
It\'s all about sense of power.

As Sir Dice said
There is no USB support for NT.
Although I have heard of third party drivers...
Google turned up this
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&lr=&q=NT4&as_q=usb
Good luck

Ok so their is no usb support, so if i install a driver for the scanner from a third party that supports usb for NT then it will work and if i cant find a driver for my hp scanner that supports usb on NT i am kinda screwed right.

Jip my friend your screwed because I just came of the phone with one of my friends and he told me that there is nothing you can do because NT was designed before USB were even invented but you can try the third party drivers.

Why don't you ditch NT? It isn't supported anymore by MS anyway..
W2K and above supports USB..

yeah i have checked it too, and besides having no support fr USB by NT , these third party drivers are not quite good also. A from experience of one of my friends, they keep giving you problems. So as sirdice said ditch NT and go for other OS.

There is no USB support for NT as the others have said.
But IO Networks/DIGI makes usb hubs with support for
NT. You may or may not be able to get away with on of
these hubs (EdgePort/421 or Hubport/7) and an NT driver
for your scanner. Like they said, it would probably be cheaper
to go to W2K.
