Hey elfguy
This is a pan-global site?......................
so are you saying that it wont be illegal???
I cannot comment upon what is legal in your country, and it would be wrong of me to speculate? You will need advice from one of your fellow Indian members.
What I will say is that if you attempt such a thing YOU RISK BIG TROUBLE I would advise against it.............SERIOUSLY
Say I were to write you a program that were to do what you think (it would not be difficult, they are already out there on the internet and I have written loads of automation scripts as have many on this site) it would put a sudden and sustained demand on the host system? That would stand out and would ALMOST CERTAINLY be interpreted as an attack.
The mere fact that you use broadband disguises or does nothing. A lot depends on the speed of the responding site...................................and a monitoring system is looking for number of connections from a location? not their speed.
Yes, you spotted my typographic error..................I did mean 2.52 seconds.............I was very warmed by that ................2,54....................you must have thought that I meant a lakh?
Yes you are right again, I am afraid that it would be misinterpreted as a DoS attack.
I am afraid that in your situation I would use my contacts and get a copy of the database.....it is not confidential, only consolidated?
I am certain that you are NOT malicious..............your questions are all wrong for someone like that
But PLEASE BE CAREFUL

NOTE:This is for all you gentlemen who think I am trying to hack into the site I mentioned to get Information.THAT IS NOT TRUE. If you gentlemen happen to open that site you will notice that there is no password required and no personal data has been displayed on the site (except for name).

Hi, elfguy
I wonder if there might be a simple solution?
How many records are you interested in? If it is only a few (your classmates) then why not use the enquiry system, and your roll number as the seed?
For example, if you are 12345, enter 12346 and see who you get? It should be another member of your class, as I am sure that the numbers were issued in blocks. Then just go up and down until you have all the results.
Tell me what version of Microsoft Office you have access to and I will show you how to design and build a database from the information you have gathered.
Then we can look at database manipulation and updating/population.
I am afraid that I misunderstood your original question because examination results are a favourite example in database analysis/design/manipulation courses. I actually thought it was some homework you were doing
For those who missed the subtlety: the comma "," in the Indian enumeration system represents a "lakh", or 100,000 (one hundred thousand) so my typographic error of "2,52 seconds" implied 252,000 seconds..................even my ISP can manage slightly better than that
Cheers

OK that is simple, just enter the numbers above and below you until you do not recognise that person, and write the information down.
We can then create an Access database and enter them............OK you can probably do most of what you want in Excel, but that will not teach you about relational databases
It is not worth trying to automate the process for that number of records, and you will just look like a teacher, so will not create any trouble for yourself.
Cheers

"
Information Technology is not about "fun", it is about providing simple, cost effective solutions.
