So sorry I hadn't checked in on ya'll yet. Glad you're okay. My forum has about 200 members, ~70% are British, I've spent all morning trying to locate all of them. Most are okay, we have very few who are actually in London. Only 1 unnaccounted for right now, but pretty concerned about her, she was going to London today to catch a flight out of Heathrow for France.

Glad to see you guys are ok. We have an office which is very close to the locations that were bombed, Liverpool Station and Moorgate are the closest tube stations to that office and both of them were bombed. We got word that everyone in our company is ok, but that mobile service is offline and there has been disruption in land line communications. They did say that the power was ok though, and that sitting in the office you would never know that something bad had happened very near by.

I certainly hope everyone on AOUK is ok and accounted for and you guys have my empathy/sympathy.

Oh and there is word that it is an "unknown" Al Quaida group that has claimed responsibility for it. Clicky

London bombings sux, actually any kind of terrorism. We have faced it for years now in INDIA. I personally was in a state(province) which was officially "very disturbed state" by govt of india. And unfortunately my place was very close to pakistan border. Those are the terros days i dont want ever ever again.

Today heard abt London bombings, yesterday we had Ayodhya attack from LeT, JeT, kinda people.
Huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These brain-dead stupids idiots dont realize a thing. my mind is going outta control.
I hope london is not turned into a closed place.

Glad to hear our members are safe - which I could say that for everyone there.

Besides frustration, anger, resentment, and sadness, one can't help but to feel helpless. What really irks me is the al Qaeda (in this case "of Europe" as per: http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe...ube/index.html) also says:

"A group calling itself "The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe" posted a claim of responsibility for Thursday's blasts on the Internet, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The statement also threatened attacks in Italy and Denmark, warning those countries "and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan."

    Source: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...in_explosion_3

They condemm the West for putting bases on their sacred land - but they have no problem being terrorists in other countries.

Before I go off further, I just again wanted our UK members the best and hope everything can be as good as possible. And my condolonces to anyone here who had family or friends involved in this tragedy.

Unfortunately, I do not see a 'quick fix' to this issue. Even if the US pulled out of Iraq - would the terrorist attacks stop?
\"We\'re the middle children of history.... no purpose or place. We have no Great War, no Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We\'ve all been raised by television to believe that one day we\'ll all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars -- but we won\'t. And we\'re learning slowly that fact. And we\'re very, very pissed off.\" - Tyler (Brad Pitt) Fight Club.

    Nope.

I'm so glad our UK brothers are well though. I was quite concerned about you guys this morning. What are they thinking, going over and attacking Brits? That CAN'T be wise...
