I copied those files to drive. Then, ummm, I copied win.com to drive and rebooted...........when I clicked boot in normal mode it just shut down! WTF no boot loop, this comp is in way worse shape than I thought. Guess I gotta tell him the bad news?

Hi Propaganda
Time to try the repair option?.........or can you boot OK in safe mode?
We have the last option of roadkil's "unstoppable copier", then reformat NTFS and reinstall, then load the copied data files?
We ain't lost yet pal....................this is The Alamo day seven?

Hi Propaganda ,
Thanks for asking, but all my friends and family are accounted for. The bombs were south/south east of centre...........my contacts are all north/ north west.
Actually it would seem that a lot of the victims were tourists. Given the timing, most local workers would already be at work.
I was afraid that a reformat would be the only viable solution...............good luck!
