Was probably either lag or you weren't really hitting them. I have noticed that if you don't shoot in short bursts or with sights up those guns are horribly inaccurate...especially if you just hold down the fire button on an automatic weapon...do agree though...the damage models are a bit off...i swear...shoot someone in the neck with a 50 cal and they walk away...I am sorry but their torso should have just about exploded from the impact....

Guess it goes both ways though, makes you that much harder to kill too

    EDIT: BTW, I have the following: AMD64 4000+, 1GB 3200DDR, 40 Gb SerialATA, 256MB ATI Radeon X800 XT

And it still runs sluggish in spots...its a very demanding game.
There is only one constant, one universal, it is the only real truth: causality. Action. Reaction. Cause and effect...There is no escape from it, we are forever slaves to it. Our only hope, our only peace is to understand it, to understand the 'why'. 'Why' is what separates us from them, you from me. 'Why' is the only real social power, without it you are powerless.

Hah. Yeah, it may have been lag or something. I was using the zoom lens and firing off about 2 rounds at a time from an elevated position though...so it *should* have been hitting. And I swear to God whoever I was shooting at could not aim at all, because it took me a long time to kill him and he never managed to hit me with a freakin' machine gun. o_0

    those guns are horribly inaccurate
But as you said, that's probably exactly what saved me. He was laying on the trigger. Fun game though! And oh yeah, remember back in the day how you could unload an AK clip into someone in goldeneye and they'd still walk away? That was craziness...

    *edit*

    *whistles*

The laptop I'm looking at has an AMD64 2.2GHz, 1 GB RAM, 80 gig HD, 128 MB video card for just under $1.1k. I'm now thinking seriously of going higher...
