    less winxp orientated malware
Are you serious ? If you are worried about exploits I would suggest staying away Vista until the big holes are plugged. There are going to be holes, after all. A new version of windows is fresh meat for hackers. At least with XP you know what you've got.

Indeed vista seems like a crap name, but if I was involved with computers when XP was released I would have probably said XP is a crap name... it will take some getting used to before I like the name vista. I think they should have called it windows fedora, now that is a cool name ;-)

    EDIT:

I have just designed the vista wallpaper, what ya think

I would prefer a more businesslike and substantial name like
    Microsoft Windows 3.11
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

Gee! Will they rename MSIE to the "Vista Cruiser" too?

    Dictionary.com definition of 'vista':
A distant view or prospect, especially one seen through an opening, as between rows of buildings or trees.
Obviously, Microsoft is naming it Vista because we're still looking forward to the day when Microsoft will actually release a product that lives up the the hype they give it. And this seems to be a distant prospect.
