Isn't there a school on a USA Native American reservation that is the home of the "Mighty Whities"? I believe it's in Michigan, but I could be mistaken. I would have loved my school to be the home of the Mighty Whities. I am a whitey, and we are might dammit, lol.

I know it was meant as an insult, but I don't really care. Mascots are a symbol of pride and power. People just forget that when they see an ackward man in a large suit do laps around the field. The HS I graduated from actually has a Cherokee man with a headdress as its embolem. We couldn't have a mascot though for obvious reasons and were simply "Home of Champions".

Think of it in a light simular to how black US citizens sometimes call eachother "nigga". Something is only positive or negative if you choose it to be. Always, that choice is yours.
