In addition, I find it worth to mention that good software design separates
the user interface from the actual "core" routines. There is no real answer to
will the "killer" be a GUI or a CLI?
because nmap's "core" is not a nice interface! One could argue, however,
that a good presentation of gathered data is important as well - and might
turn a very useful tool into a "killer" application. Myself, I prefer to feed the
output of such tools as nmap in my own analysis programs, and thus, the
"core" functions are of more importance to me and tip the scales whether
the tool is a "killer" application or not.
