    If it was for special occasions I think it'd be ok... there are usually seperate dress uniforms, however this is not the case from what I've seen/read... The article I found on cbc.ca backs that up

    In 1996, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed an appeal by three former RCMP officers who were challenging the right for Sikhs to wear turbans while on duty.
    This would lead me to believe that they do wear their turbans while on duty.

    The lastest Ontario government has decided as of Sunday not to allow the use of any religous rules to settle disputes.
    No good deed goes unpunished.

    Thanks for adding the update lostit44.

    So we're safe from the Sharia... this could prove to be interesting with the move against Jewish and Catholic faith-based tribunals... I'm glad to see it happen though.
