but if you insist on having a cultural war well….Tom Baker was the only Dr Who worth watching!
As I see I am obviously, outposted by you I will (you must a have a lot to say) agree with the Tom Baker bit, also if you were offended by the term or phrase 'be careful", then I apologise. However I must point out to you that while you use capitilization for the US and Afghanistan, and leave "canada" in lower case, it kind of gets me to think you don't respect your neighbours.

Free trade hasn't helped anyone but the USA. I grew up in Windsor, Ont and I remember fondly of travelling to Troy or Schwartz Creek Mich via the tunnel to visit relatives and all my Dad had to do was show his Military ID at the border, or when we would go to Bob-Lo island and catch the paddle wheeler over in Detroit, or going to Tiger's games at the old stadium. Heck I remember when our stupid dollar was actually worth a nickel more in the US.
This has all changed for the worse, I bet a lot of people would be surprised to learn just how many US citizens work in Canada and how may Canadians work in the states and have to travel each day back and forth and go through border checks each time.
I personally would not like to see a North American Border, I like the fact that we are two different cultures (3 counting Quebec), and I strongly believe a lot of Americans feel the same way. (I should include Mexico, but my concern is the 49th parralell)
As for the talking heads in Washington who like to blame Canada for all of the nasty people coming across the borders, what is that all about, I mean come on, the border between the US and Mexico is just as porous if not more so. So what is happening is a paranoid effect, you police your side and we police our side, what a waste of resources, and it ties up the border to the free movement of trade, such as it is.
I feel a lot of what is going on (Homeland Security,US)(CIS Canada) is just a ruse to erode what civil liberties we both had at one time, now the security forces can apprehend and detain on suspicion alone, or wiretap, eavesdrop, heck they even encourage neighbours to spy on one another.
Sorry to rant, that's all I have to say on this matter, if I have offended anyone by my comments or opinions, then again sorry.
