I read about a husband who had been having an 'erotic' online relationship with a woman for some time. After arranging to meet her for the first time at a hotel he turned up only to find out his online 'mistress' was actually his wife.

I read about that too, would loved to have seen the look on his face when he saw his wife.. My opinion is that if people are together as a couple regardless if they are married or not, then the only person they should have erotic chats and flirt with should be his/her partner. If I found out my boyfriend was flirting with other women I would finish the relationship straightaway, not only is it disrespectful and takes the piss, it also demeans the relationship you are having with that person. I am all for harmless flirting but not when in a relationship with someone else, to me it is a form of cheating.

flirting is human nature it don't bother me a bit. It's when it goes to more then just flirting then it begins to bother me.
I had to google 'jfgi' to see what it meant. The irony is overwhelming.

Thing is, some people might not even notice that they themselves are flirting. Especially in chats, where an innocent topic can end up being a bit spiced up once some sexual remarks are made. But I feel trust is very important too. Keeping no secrets for your partner is very important. Mine has full access to my whole system and knows all my passwords too. And vice versa.
Still, we're both young and are both pretty to look at so we tend to draw some attention even without flirting. Just something we have to accept. We just have to trust each other.

I take offense to that... It doesnt happen here in Texas, only in Ark.
Hey, I take offense to that, only except...it's absolutely true. You should see the people I'm surrounded by down here!

    And so modest too

I'm sort of on the fence on this issue...

It depends on the intention of the person doing the flirting.

I remember doing a little flirting with that Aussie girl NightFallsGirl (or similar) a while back, but to me it was just a bit of a laugh.

I had no desire do meet or do anything with her at all.

However if I was flirting with intention then that would have been another matter.

Lol. Modesty? Never heard of that.

Of course, it depends strongly on your personal lifestyle. I live in a very open-minded country where sex isn't a real taboo anymore. And I myself am pretty open-minded but also strictly monogamous. Still, when I talk about myself in e.g. a chat with someone else, they might consider it flirting from my side, especially if they themselves are from a more close-minded society.

Just think about it. Women in Europe might walk on the beach in bikini or even topless and the average guy there doesn't get real excited by it. But guys from other cultures (e.g. Moroccan) and also some local guys do seem to have trouble with understanding that a woman on the beach in bikini is not flirting with them or any other guy at the beach.

So what one person might consider to be flirting is just normal, daily behaviour for others.
