As far as it goes for me if you go to mcdonalds you expect to eat Mcdonalds. Funnily enought in Ireland and France the hygiene standards for Mcdonalds is higher than in a lot of resturants. The health and safety board are on their back constantly especially here in France. It doesnt make the food any better but I like a nice greasy burger every now and then .

Actually I think McDonalds taste better in Europe. I think the higher standards pay off in a more even consistance quality. Sometimes here you get a great burger but most of the time it's made wrong or old or warm versus hot or well we suck sometimes. Also the Taco Bell that used to be in Picadilly in London is the best on the Planet. Or was, and the Wendy's over by Soho is much better.

I heard about the Taco Bell but never got the chance to eat there. In Ireland and England you also get a lot of local competition. You cant go out on the weekend without finishing up at the local chipper after the pub closes. I still consider the quater pounder from the local in my home town as the best burger you can get. Its been made the same way for the past 25 years. Mmmmmm now i 'm getting hungry.

Nah, I'm a kebab man myself. Nothing like tossing back some greasy doner after a few pints. Now I am getting hungry. And being made fun of. I used to get called "cowboy" alot.

Well, back in 19-mumble, Carnaby street was still the high spot in London and we played all hell trying to find a decent burger in the ville. Had to settle for pub food and lots of the warm local brown ale to wash it down.

Got introduced to the local chipper after hours, too. Man, talk about greasy food!

Hey, pick your poison. Life is short. Enjoy!

Here in France it is the kebab that takes the place of the local chipper. Still as greasy but I do miss my quater pounders. The first thing i do when I go back for the holidays is go get myself a burger. Well it is the second thing after I get a couple of decent pints of the black stuff .

    Hi Roadclosed,
THanks for the thought. The riots are all out in the suburbs so as I am in the middle of the city I havent seen any of it. Being the intelligent people they are they burn and wreck their own neighbourhood. Still I never need much of an excuse to stay stocked up with Guinness, Beamish and wine.
