Thread: Is this a real expectation or....

    Hey Hey,

    That looks pretty decent to me.... I've seen a lot worse... hell I could meet those specs...

    The requirements for the position I currently have were

    -College/University Grad in Computer Field
    -MS Windows 2000 Server, SBS 2000, 2000 Pro, XP Knowledge
    -Mac OS 9 and OS X Experience
    -Experience with Exchange Server 2000
    -Experience with TrendMicro Enterprise AV Software
    -Experience with Retrospect Backup Software and tape drive troubleshooting
    -Background in hardware
    -Software experience with Quark, Adobe Creative Suite, Office (Mac and PC), Stuffit, Disk Tracker (and millions of other small pieces of software)
    -Networking background (LAN Management, PC/Mac interconnectivity)
    -Active Directory Experience
    -High end laser printer experience, desktop laser printer experience
    -Webdesign know-how + Flash experience
    -Graphics Editing background
    There was more but I dont' remember it the rest..

    I think this one is pretty ridiculous..

    OB REQUIREMENTS
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Requirements:
    • At least 8 years of Senior Networking/Security experience.
    • Must have Cisco VOIP experience.
    • CCIE in Security, Voice or R&S. Equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
    • Implementing Cisco Security technologies (i.e. IDS/IPS devices, PIX/ASA, VPN Concentrator, IOS
    Firewall/IPS, CSA, MARS, NAC/CCA)
    • Implementing VOIP solutions. Understanding and implementing voice solutions is extremely
    important. You will be leading these.
    • EXCELLENT oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with
    executives, engineers, sales people, vendors and peers.
    • Must have VoIP and IP Communications experience
    • Can survey your previous customers and receive outstanding rating. Can reference all of your
    previous supervisors and/or peers.
    • Self-Starter—can succeed under limited supervision
    • Ability to work in fast paced and rapidly changing environment
    • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent
    • Canadian or US Citizen only
    • Must establish and maintain strong relationships externally with Cisco and with clients.
    • Can become “The Proactive Strategic Coach” for clients.

    Nice to haves:
    • Managed Services
    • Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing experience
    • MCSE or strong Microsoft knowledge (Windows 2000 or 2003)
    • Scripting experience in Perl or VB
    • Storage Experience (SAN)
    • Leadership experience
    • Experience in the Financial Industry
    • Additional Cisco & Security Certifications
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Pre-Sales experience: understanding the true business value
    • Familiarity with compliance regulations: FDIC, GLBA, and SOX.

    HT I know one guy who can meet those specs, they willing to pay 120K+ a year?
    Who is more trustworthy then all of the gurus or Buddha’s?

    I dunno.. Google Security Focus Jobs Mailing List.. it's about 4 down on the list.. err here I"ll just do it.. It's also a work remotely job.. up to 50% of each month will be spent travelling.. usually only about 20% (according to the post)... the remainder is work from home... It sounds pretty sweet.

    too much tarvel for me, and I hate sales...but i have a few friends that should be interested if the pay is equal to the expctations they have
