Computers are like automobiles, it is an assembly industry not a manufacturing one.
on the main this is correct.. but there is a black art .. we say in OZ.."White fella's Magic mate" in the manufacture of the PCB's .. so the board you could say are manufactured and the components assembled on to them..

DFI and Soltek Gamers, most of time I have seen them they were assembled in cheap cases and died an un-natural death due to flexing, ahh and the super quality of Zida and Pc-partners.. ahh the beautiful Tomato boards..

now dont start me on crap cases and PSU's

    ..

and for that mater .. "It must be good..it has a Intel Pentium 4 and 512MB of RAM" statements.. gag

The DFI's are ok.. .. When mounted in good cases with good PSU's and excellent cooling.. and only used to show off to friends on a Sat nite Lan party..

Hi Undies, i believe that quote was used in the Crocodile Dundee movie.

anyhow i've had some troubles with the Asus boards that i've brought recently, i'm thinking about going back to Gigabyte cause i've never had any issues with them.

DFI are marketed as overclocker (enthusiast) boards over here. Tend to be on the more expensive side with 'interesting' feature like UV reactive slots ect. Seem to get a good press but I've never used one.

I like Asus, always found the boards to be reliable. Gigabyte I've also never had problems with and I'd be happy to use. I don't like MSI or any of the supervalue boards PCChips etc. Had too many problems with those in the past especially the all in one boards.

Well when nforce3 first came out THG had benchmarks on like the only 4 boards they made for 939s and MSI's pretty much came on top so we bought some for builds at work. We JUST got rid of the last one about a month ago and how long ago were those made? oh ya and we only bought 3 to start... We just kept having problems with them and even the last one we used ended up being a problem it had a bad sata controller and instead of rma'ing that board too we put in a new 22$ controller hehe
