\"We\'re the middle children of history.... no purpose or place. We have no Great War, no Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We\'ve all been raised by television to believe that one day we\'ll all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars -- but we won\'t. And we\'re learning slowly that fact. And we\'re very, very pissed off.\" - Tyler (Brad Pitt) Fight Club.

hmm as the saying goes there's a sucker born every 5 seconds, so i'm betting that this company is relying on them purchasing this piece of useless merchandise..

but still you never know it could serve a purpose for something, like a fireplace ornament or something..

Hmmmm, $19.95 for an I/O switch? oh! great.

Why not just click on the internet connection in the system tray and click on "disconnect"..............then go and spend the $19.95 on beer?

    HAHAHAHAHA....hahahaha, oh god....

I'm trying to think of how many of these would sell at a country club.
What brilliant mind decided "Man, what we need to do is get ourselves a stop sign...".
Either that or it's a marketing prank to test the stupidity of consumers?

I just think it would be pretty neat to hang up on my wall and make into a CAT5 holder.

    Oddly enough ...

We just upgraded our phone service to Comcast. The new cable-modem has a little button on the front. This disables the network connections through the cable modem. Don't know why it's there, but it is. If wife gets too crazy on the net, I can just turn it off, I guess.

That really shouldn't be a problem, now. The long distance is now basically free, so she'll be spending more time on the phone.

Will The Hack Stop prevent my computer from getting spyware or viruses?

The Hack Stop is not an anti-virus protection. We recommend that you install a firewall and anti-virus software in addition to using The Hack Stop.
LMAO. Whats the use of the Hack Stop when they advice the above. They could just make a website with "INSTALL A FIREWALL AND UP-TO-DATE ANTIVIRUS" and charge $19.95 for everyone viewing that message.

    Cheers

    Hey,

Rapier57 - The modem that i got from my cable company has a standby switch to (Telewest, England), as does my Fathers (NTL, England), and i always hit standby when i'm not using it - but more really cause the flashing lights distract me from the TV

    Matts Hack Stop Instructions:
    1. Find your index finger (either hand will do)
    2. Press the off button on your PC

What do you reckon guys I could sell it on ebay as a document titled "Never worry about leaving your computer again!"

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

As far as I know most modems (I know my Motorola does) have a standby/disconnect switch but when most users are cluless and don't bother to read the manual maybe they deserve to be parted from their 19.95.
