Yes an Access Point has the function to turn it into a repeater and here is how you can set that up.
1. change your nic IP address to static 192.168.1.100
2. Connect the nic to the Access point with a patch cable.
3. open up IE and type in 192.168.1.1
4. type in username and password. (username is usually left blank, password is admin in Linksys)
5. click on the AP Mode tab.
6. choose Wireless repeater and add in the mac address of the wireless router you want to repeat.
7. confirm settings and save it.
Now you should be set, place the AP where your signal is getting weak and test it out.
Dont place your repeater too far away from the wireless router, you may experence lag or even packet loss. Use a tool like ethereal to check your signal strength. Once your AP is in place you wont need the network cable anymore. If you have drop ceilings in your building you can make holes for the antenias and hide the repeater (AP) up in the ceiling. Thats only if you have a power source up there. I tend to mount them to the walls.
Use a screw driver and pop out the rubber inserts on the feet of the Linksys router and screw them to the wall, then stick the AP on the mounts on the wall. Works great and looks good too.
If you are running WEP you will need to set that up in the AP also.
Good Luck.

thanks a lot Ghost_25inf,
hope it help me and others....
maybe the diagram should be like this:
from the switch---->wireless router. then put AP to act as repeater. all 3 APs will have same SSID and different channel. Right?
hope 3 APs is enough to cover 2 storey building.
I can predict anything, except future!

when you buy them - unpack and install them one at a time! That way if you find out you only need one or two you can still the the left-overs back!
