Sorry to here about your dad, I know how you must feel.

Not too long ago my nan got mugged about 100 metres from her house, on a residential road in broad daylight. She was unharmed fortunately, but it makes you wanna give the guy/s a good kicking for being such *****s.

I nearly had my chance once with this guy who kept breaking into houses in my area. He had done my house twice, and made the mistake of trying to kick my door in while i was in bed, I immedeately grapped my housemates spinning staff threw some clothes on and went after the guy. Its amazing how fast people can run when they have someone coming after them with a 5ft staff (18months later and no more break ins)

Point is though, you don't really know how you'll react till you get put in the position, most would hope they would do the right thing. I was fortunate in that i was able to get something to "defend" my self with and take the guy some what by surprise (although not enough), however if i was out and about and saw 4 guys beating the **** out of one guy, and i'm on my own my first reaction would be too call the police, however i honestly couldn't say whether i would do anything to intervene, for fear of becoming a victim myself (obviously it would be different if it was a mate).

However somone laying on the street who has already become the vicitm and the attackers are long gone, thats a different story and i spit on anyone who would just walk on...

You are right, but it's not just in the Canada that is bad, it's also in other places.

I really don't know what the answer is as far as going tooled goes.

Sometimes it can be a good thing, and other times it can be worse (on you) depending on the situation and people involved.

It is really up to each person to decide what to do for themselves (Listening to your buddies will usually get you killed or worse). We all know our personal limitations or we should anyway. Bringing a weapon into the problem can either help (If the other person runs etc) or worse (IF they have a weapon or training etc).

It is ALWAYS better to avoid that kind of trouble rather than confront it head on. The smart person will see tomorrow every time. You brain is the best weapon you can have if you use it.

Prolly illegal, as is anything that'll give you a fighting chance or let you live or reasonably defend yourself in this soft criminal loving country.
