Try this in your <head>

<link href="favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" /> assuming favicon.ico in root directory.

----- Tip for creating favicon.ico --------------
-> Create a png of 16px by 16px
-> Download png2ico
-> run "png2ico favicon.ico your16x16.png"
-> upload the favicon.ico
