    Howdy.

?I've always found the movie Electric Dreams pretty amusing.
This is a must-see old 80's movie! It's actually a love story that goes something like this - a nerdy guy who knows nothing about computers buys himself a home computer. Within days he's hacking into his boss's computer and downloads everything from the massive system in just a few seconds on his speedy acoustic coupler modem. The download overloads his computer so he does what any ordinary man would do - he dumps a glass of champaigne into the keyboard.

So as you probably guessed, the computer isn't fried - instead it comes to life, starts talking to the nerdy guy and becomes jealous of his girlfriend. In no time, the movie goes into a plot similar to The Net where the computer is making the nerdy guy's life hell by calling the police on him, canceling his credit cards and locking him into his apartment.
There's also Ghost in the Machine witch is another oldie i get some laughs from..
Karl, a technician in a computer shop, is also the "Address Book Killer," who obtains the names of his victims from stolen address books.
    cheers

    5. It's a movie about ALIENS. Enough said.
    4. No financial company is stupid enough to throw out their printouts WHOLE in a DUMPSTER. Shredded or whatnot.
    3. No idea.
    2. Hahaha that was great, I loved that scene. Great movie too.
    1. Never really got into HOW R2-D2 did it, he just plugged his little USB 5.0 connector into the deathstar and BAM. :P

    Great list though

Got to severely disagree with that...

#2 shouldn't even be on the list, much less #2...

#5 I'm sorry, but that whole part where he talks about viruses just makes me cringe and the level of BS...about as bad as listening to Dr. Brown talk about jigawatts in Back to the Future

Definitely agree with earlier comments about trinity using the SSH exploit and nmap to get into the power grid...

And War Games...completely didn't mention that he got the password for his school's computers from the secretary and then used it to log in and change his grades...all that before he got into the military computers...IMHO that movie deserves to be #1, it was way ahead of its time (think about it, you STILL hear discussions of what happens if someone hacks into the power grid, into this infrastructure, or that infrastructure). It is, at least for me, one the major reasons I became interested in security...
There is only one constant, one universal, it is the only real truth: causality. Action. Reaction. Cause and effect...There is no escape from it, we are forever slaves to it. Our only hope, our only peace is to understand it, to understand the 'why'. 'Why' is what separates us from them, you from me. 'Why' is the only real social power, without it you are powerless.

What about Office Space or New Jack City? Both had some sort of hacking in them.
