Please forgive me for putting on my "Mr. Supercillious" hat

You should not test alpha or beta on your production box.............. you use "labrats" or "test dummies" for that

I would say that you need a reinstall at this stage?

    Sorry

reinstall what??.......the OS windows XP.......or in other words...format my machine!!1

NO WAY!!! I can wait for the proper thing to come out rather than formatting my machine for a beta........

    hi everyone

I finally found the solution to my own problem and maybe to problem for many more.....

I got the software "Registry Mechanic", then in combination with the following:

After you get up and running again, and go to re-install IE7 Beta, you should check this site out first.

    Known Issues With IE7 Beta

Did you check the logs for any clues?

    C:\Windows\ie7beta2_main.log
    C:\Windows\ie7bet2p.log
    C:\Windows\ie7bet2pUninst.log

I know that you cannot re-install it over itself so every trace must be removed.

I was able to re-install the IE 7 beta version again on my machine.

Not only that, during some earlier sessions of system restore, some of my softwares stopped working like the quicktime, etc. and they werent getting re-installed. But, by the help of registry mechanic, I was able to re-install it also.

Thnx to all of u all ur replies.

    Thnx again
