    Printer Monitor

    If I try to add a Network Printer, the only option is Local Port. The TCP/IP Port option is gone, but it gives me a choice of adding a inf file, is there an inf file to add the Standard TCP/IP Port option back?

    Does this only happen with one user account? Have you tried another account/profile? What type of environment are you in? Active Directory? Which version? What level of user is the account you're trying to add the printer with? Have you tried with local admin? Any problems with other workstations? Are those workstations part of the same OU and do they have the same policies applied?

    It would be helpful if you tried to provide a little more data other than "I can't add a network printer." In Windows98, it would have been a simple question and answer, but in 2K/XP, there are just too many variables that affect this seemingly simple task.
    Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

    Here is the results of a shot in the dark attempt.

    Run Microsoft Printer Migrator on a system that is on the network and is connected to a majority (if not all) printers. Transfer the .cab file to the domain controller and restore from that .cab file. Once it is restored (you may have to disable kernal drivers) you can click on each option and do a local restore and you got everything back..
