I can't even begin to wrap my head around how you would "update" the internet. I've heard all sorts of talk about updating TCP/IP and mail protocols especially in view of large attachments to e-mails, but what do you do when an updated server wants to send something to a non-updated client? obviously an error message of some kind. But its mind boggling.
Well, that is the thing. Don't think UPgrade. In a sense, DOWNgrade is a more appropriate term. Windows grows with every patch, service pack, etc...and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. With the whole "scrap the internet" idea, the phrase, "if we only knew then what we know now..." is a realistic action in from the technical perspective because we built it and learned from it. Now we can take the lessons learned to create a more efficient and "smaller" internet that has created it on a foundation of true security that reflects the nature of our current threats...If Henry Ford could have seen the future to see the statistics, safety, dangers and efficiencies of cars...I bet he would have designed his Model T with better safety measures such as safer seatbelts....this is an exciting prospect to commit to and even more exciting when the international community and possibly the US government funding the proposed project!!
