I'm probably going to go with bluray when the prices come down. Assuming bluray manages to survive at all.
If the world doesn't stop annoying me I will name my kids ";DROP DATABASE;" and get revenge.

You may be safe with the blu ray in the PS3 if all problems can be solved with a firmware or software patch / upgrade. If they change the hardware standards then it will be toast.

Well,
There is something of a difference betweed this and the Philips 2000, betamax, VHS "wars". It is possible to manufacture a device that will play both formats.
Another thing to bear in mind is that Sony are major players in the Blu Ray setup, and I cannot see them agreeing to suddenly making all their PS3s obsolete?
