Yesterday I had 2 computers crash.....

One is a dell desktop-1.5 years old
other is a compaq laptop-4 years old

Both XP home-sp2

Both have avast av

Both have auto updates.......

I got the laptop to boot by going into safe mode...checking logs...and disabling the auto-restart on a crash..

It ran chkdsk...and it found some errors...redid some security descripters??...insert index?? 408 in all

I am using the laptop now all appears well.....

Anyone know of a log that tells what chkdsk found and fixed?

I believe it may help with the dell...going to attempt a repair later.

What do you think...coincidence??
