Well, I prefer to form my own opinions particularly when they are supported by reputable people such as the SANS Institute, amongst others.

According to the report, vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Office suite tripled compared to 2005.
Windows applications continue to be key targets for hackers, according to the latest Top 20 list of Internet security vulnerabilities from The SANS Institute.
That was comparing 2005 to 2006 November to November so 18 months splits the difference between then and now.
I am afraid that I live in the real World rather that in some ivory tower

a handful of vulns for any number of kernels, some very bland and no proof of concept was released so cant verify, but having seen some 0days that have come past my desk, it is highly likely that it worked.
Is that guessing I see there? Highly likely and it's for sure are two different things.

but the only growth i see is webapp exploits, and everything is remaining fairly normal.
Cool. Anyway if you're going to dig up threads over a year old like you did mine, to tell me I have no idea what I'm talking about, and then say basically the same thing to Nihil and everyone else you don't agree with then you should at least learn how to spell.
