Good man yourself sir!
To be honest with you it has been a few years now, and I wasn't involved with the OS itself, only with supporting end-user apps that ran on it.
It reminded me of mainframes........... like you didn't have to even think about what the OS was?
Please give us some updates on your findings, I for one would be interested and appreciate that
