Hey I'm new here! and I need help
I have a records manager program that I am trying to install on a server for one of my clients. Its windows server 2003 sp1. When I run the setup.exe for my program it pops the normal startup message that says searching for client, but then disapears and nothing else happens. It shows up processes but will zero activity. No errors were logged in the event viewer. I tried it with both my domain admin logins as well, so I know its not a security issue with me login. Possibly somthing else going on with security on the server, but everything else will install just fine. Maybe because it needs to run as a service it could have problems? Anyone ever had this happen? any fixes?

Does it show up in the service manager? Is it started?
Can you connect a client to it?
Maybe it's not supported on W2K3?

No, the installer wont get that far. It wont even show the screens where you click next and you agree to the terms. It just freezes up, but the rest of the server functions just fine.

The installer itself is not go anywhere. The normal messages that say Click Next to proceed and Accept the terms and conditons blah wont even come up, but I know the installer is good, I used it on a test server.

No
There is only one administrator account on a server
Try that.

If this is a msi package check to ensure the version of msi installer on your test server is the same as the production server.
