Remove AVG.

Same symptoms happened to me 2-4 weeks ago.
It was just after an update that things slowed to a crawl.
I thought my internet had been cut to 56K and my mouse would jerk around the screen.

Now use Comodo.

4 years without reformatting....living on the edge.
