The issue with her old system is likely outdated 3G hardware and mechanical fatigue in the door contacts. For a duplex, you really want a system with encrypted sensors to prevent signal bypass.
I consulted with ARCO Lock & Security on a similar budget-friendly setup that uses a local NVR for video history so there's no forced cloud subscription. It?s much more reliable to have high-torque deadbolts paired with real-time entry logs than to rely on an aging system that was designed back in 2017.
