Bah... Rancid is sca & pop like a Fother Mucker. They and Greenday, Blink182, sum41, & other various bands that couldn't think of cool names that haven't been taken yet... are nothing more than a down-grade & decline of various forms of music. And Ramones... yeah they had history but they never cut it for me. To tame when compaired to what would happen later.

Just in case anybody is interested MegaDeth has released their new album. The reason I find this interesting (besides the fact that they kick ASS!!) is because last I heard Dave Mustaine (lead singer, guitar) suffered nerve damage in his left arm in a dirt bike accident and, from what I remember, it was career ending?? Anyway, I got a promo of their new album and OH MY GOD!!!! is it good.
peace

I play guitar, I own a Strat but I'm looking to get a bass, the guitar just dosent interest me anymore.
I also agree with Neg on Jaco who I had never heard off until I joined GuitarLodge internet forums! Its good stuff.
Anywho, bands wise I'm into The Doors, Pink Floyd etc. also some Sublime and even a little punk depending on my mood. I also for some reason like Korn, I dont know why.

Like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and all the off shoots, Rainbow, Whitesnake etc, Ozzy ( in ALL his guises), Pink Floyd, Eminem, the Chilli's, Like a lot of the thrash metal , also into Opera, Mozart and Liszt.
Wierd I know, but that's life.
Not really a fan of Country, Motown or that Reggie music.
When my brother died (heroin), my parents had him laid up in the house for a week, I got some Gregorian chant CD's (Catholic upbringing) it was real peaceful and fulfilling stuff, nowadays I like to put some on when things start to get a little hectic.
In a nutshell: It's got to get to you, otherwise whats the point ?
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

i believe the title of this thread is "music" not c-rap :P
as for the best guitarist
hrm.. how many guitarists do you know that can play with an alan wrench? I know one - tom morello.
No one gives him much credit but he is definitley a pioneer in guitar, and will go down as one of the best ever in history.
Eh hem - must i mention Yngwie Malmsteen. Possibly one of the fastest/best alive today, maybe ever.
How about Jimmy Page? The man played with a bow for christ sake.
Eric Clapton, definitley good..
and last but not least - the self-proclaimed best guitarist alive - joe satriani. Sorry neg ramone gets owned by at least three of these guys
