I am sure that there are several people here that could, and maybe would. It really would all depend on whether or not you mean hacking or cracking.

Well, I'd suggest you stock up on basic general-purpose computer knowledge and experience. As a default newbie-source, I'd recommend the Happy Hacker's guide to Mostly Harmless Hacking (http://happyhacker.org/gtmhh/gtmhh2.shtml). I think people would be willing to help you with specific problems and questions, but 'teach me how' is just too general a query.

O.k. squaff, no prob. I have a specially crafted URL that will exploit a bug in the NT servers running unpatched versions of the IIS web server.
Just fill in the blanks in the URL denoted by < > characters in a standard web browser, I personally think that IE works the best and hit enter. It will allow you access to the physical partition containing the IIS web directories. (this is a good thing) from there you will just have to poke arround.
Best whishes my friend and godspeed!
Here is the URL

The Guide To (Mostly) Harmless HAcking is awesome. That is where I got started. Also reading up on manuels and just experimenting really helps. I wouldnt recommend just using canned programs or some haxor sites exploits. Find your own and don't be a malicious little twit. Those things are what will make you a great hacker.

Go learn off other sites like many others. Some people don't have all day to teach you.

ummm...
You guys are recommending the guide to (mostly) harmless hacking? and if that wasn't bad enough quad goes and posts that...
Well, I suppose no matter how stupid the question you don't deserve advice that bad. If you really want to be more than a script kiddie I suggest spending less time on forums that give out this kind of advice and more time reading. If you want to do stupid shit and get busted, well, you don't need a computer for that.
Anyways, I haven't seen one intelligent thing posted here in a while, so that's it for me. adios.

Wow, your not very nice. Anyways....The Guide To (Mostly) Harmless hacking doesnt make you a script kiddie. In fact it helps steer you in the right direction. It is a great resource if you are just starting out.

google.com is a great search engine, you can use the directories (great if you don't want links to bloody amazon.com or some reply on a forum) or just a plain search. Go there and find whatever you want, but when I get time I'll find post the links.

how do hacking and cracking differ?
Terr
September 13th, 2001, 09:02 PM
Well, the media has popularized the term 'Hacker' as having bad connotations. Some people hold that the original term was one of more respect than disgust, and that Hacking originally meant a really neat techical action.
In order to distinguish this from the 'bad' people, (I.E.: Computer Criminals) there is a push to get the word Cracker accepted as the in-the-media word for the criminal hackers, the bad guys.
So, depending on who you ask, a hacker isn't a bad person, a criminal, a cracker is. Both are good with computers :D

That was a good way of putting Terr, and yes, learning HTML would be great, also learning shell programming with Perl. Start there for sure. Also, if you dont have one, I would reccomend getting a Linux box.

First you need some golf clubs...and a golf ball...and a golf course to play on.
You place the ball on a tee. Then swing the club at the ball. This is your first hack. Continue to swing at the ball until it goes into the hole. Repeat for each hole on course. Hackers that swing less than 80 time in 18 holes are considered 3l3t3 h4ck3rs.

After reading the HH Guides to (Mostly) Harmless Hacking, I would suggest Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets and Solutions (2nd ed). It contains most of the more common exploits and ways to patch them, and is superb at simply giving you an idea of what is possible and what kind of :halo: problems :halo: / :lildevil: opportunities :lildevil: to look out for.

I also first started at the guides to harmless hacking http://www.happyhacker.org
This teaches u alot of cool things it's like the easiest place to aquire knowledge about the world that you want to learn. And then when you have resonable questions you can e-mail the people there and they will usually reply.
Read alot of books about your operating system, common operating systems, commands, vulnerablily's, learn ms=dos and unix commands.Learn some phreaking go to computer conventions, It's mostly reading alot of network security books like Hack Attack's Revealed,Just go to like B&S or supercrown and look in the networking section.

Linux – a clone of Unix, its "free"
A Linux box – a computer with Linux installed as the operating system
You can take a class on Unix at your local Community Collage or just get the book “Linux for dummies.”
Html will help, again you can take the class or read a book, it is a very basic programming language. You will not need anything other than notepad which comes with windows. You should learn this first it will broaden your mind as far as computer logic hence making it easy for you to pick up other programming languages.
Furthermore, I think Happyhacker.org is a good place to start just be sure you understand exactly what your doing before you do it, don’t try to jump in head first you will become overwhelmed and lose interest, take your time and have fun with it.
Ps. Check out winlinux 2000, I will try to post a link. It is a version of Linux for windows and makes the install a breeze.

Well, running semi-linux off a UMSDOS filesystem is nothing new. I was playing around with some stuff like that a few years ago.
True, a UMSDOS Linux, which is MUCH easier to install, is useful for beginner learning. But if you want to start on more advanced stuff, a real (partitioned) install is probably better. Just less stuff that might go awry.

I love enthusiast people!
About your question: can you be a little more specific? I'm not sure about what you mean by that...
