Most people only vote if there is a discussion worthwhile in the thread. They are like, ****, there is nothing worth talking about in this thread, so they just go away. No need to even take the time to vote.
Maybe if you made it a multipart question you would have gotten better replys...ie:
IS student
CS student
student
IT worker
programer
security professional
other employed
computer hobbiest
other
Then again, a lot of people just don't like polls..
