    Saint Linus

    Found this on www.slashdot.org. Put it tech humor becasue some of his choices seem a little off. There are some good choices like Muhammed Ali and Kofi Annan but then theres Tina Turner and David Bowie. Guess every one has a different diffention of hero.

    That was actually a very good article/list. Passed some time at work anyway.

    One of them is Linus Torvalds, chosen for his work in on Linux and 'Open Source'.
    And rightly so... he helped change the computing world forever!

    I'm def. grateful for him being born and writing his own OS/kernel.
    Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

    It’s also worth pointing out that Bill isn't on there. He might deserve honorable mention. The man does give out enormous amounts of money to charity.

    How many people on that list can say they gave over 1 billion to charity. But on the flip side how many can say the created a monopoly where they can rip off the average consumer and crush smaller companies.
    Its not software piracy. I’m just making multiple off site backups.

    Yeah, I think I read somewhere that he gave like 45 million or 45 billion (one of the too, I know the difference, but I forgot which one) to India to help them with AIDS or something. That's quite a lot of money, either way, and is also very generous. However, the monopoly thing isn't that good, and crushing smaller companies which doesn't help the industry, just him, is kind of low. Either sense, he has done good and has done bad.
