After I applied the latest patch from M$ (Windows2000-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe)...I checked the Digital Signature and noticed that the time stamp was dated Saturday, July 05, 2003 10:46:25 AM.

Maybe I be smokin' to much of da kine, but would that digital stamp mean that they new about the exploit a couple of weeks ago, and waited til' yesterday to make it public, to protect their Homeland Security Contract?

I heard rumors that a new worm was supposed to be released on or around the Fourth of July.

Anyhow,...probably just a stoney observation.
