downloading=100 years in prison?
Is this a joke?
http://www.msnbc.com/news/963554.asp
“Johnny Cashless” (his name changed to protect his identity) is one of the Internet users caught up in the recording industry’s ongoing crackdown on Internet piracy. Now serving a 100-year sentence at a Supermax prison in the Midwest
Huh? 100 years in prison? For downloading? Daaamn. I dunno if this is a spoof....
Then
MSNBC: So what’s life like in here?
CASHLESS: Not much fun, that’s for sure. Incredibly tight security. And the place is getting more and more populated every day. Just last week they added five new prisoners on the tier. One was only 12 years old; they caught him downloading “Happy Birthday” for his younger sister. Wham! 25 years, just like that. Someone else got caught on visitors day, trying to sneak an MP3 file inside a cake. Fifty years at the drop of a gavel.
Holy ****, so it's not just the people having over 1000 songs.
So murderers spend less time in prison than a downlaoder of 50 Cent? That is seriously ****ed up.

Look closer at the title of the article...

The real question is not whether peace can be obtained, but whether or not mankind is mature enough for it...

yea, the parody that got me was the one about the riaa suing car owners for letting passengers listen to their radio, since only the original owner of the car has the rights to listen... These parodys are funny, but should be a little more well labled!

What's so sad is the fact that people (including me) actually thought it could be true.... The RIAA is so retarded that if they had their way everyone who downloaded a song would spend forever in jail.....except we would be allowed to earn money just so we could pay "damages", lol.

Just out of curiosity where does the RIAA fit on the political spectrum? It's sort of a tough call...
On one hand you could say extreme left because they are for supposed 'rights' and all that. But on the other hand you could say extreme right because they are out to 'control' other peoples computers.
I'd just as soon say extreme retarded but there Isn't really a spot for that on the spectrum. Lol, you could argue that though heh heh...
So what are your thoughts???
The real question is not whether peace can be obtained, but whether or not mankind is mature enough for it...

Looks like their over-reacting to me, perhaps they should of formulated some sort of pre-defined punishment for offenders.... not this vigilantism we are seeing. 12 year olds here... grandmas there... where does it stop?

the thing with this is, whoever you got that from is full of ****. thats about it.
\"Look, Doc, I spent last Tuesday watching fibers on my carpet. And the whole time I was watching my carpet, I was worrying that I, I might vomit. And the whole time, I was thinking, \"I\'m a grown man. I should know what goes on my head.\" And the more I thought about it... the more I realized that I should just blow my brains out and end it all. But then I thought, well, if I thought more about blowing my brains out... I start worrying about what that was going to do to my goddamn carpet. Okay, so, ah-he, that was a GOOD day, Doc. And, and I just want you to give me some pills and let me get on with my life. \" -Roy Waller

Incase you didn't notice, someone already pointed out words like "Parody"... but go ahead and clap your hands due to your "amaseing discovery" like the electronic retard that you have already managed to become.

Its one thing to see something odd with a post then point something out or post your feelings about it like I do sometimes... ummm... like what im doing right now. But its another thing when you actively search out for very... very... very... old posts then use it as a excuse to flame somebody or to up your posts around here. The chances of those peaple actually comeing back here after a year or two to read that is slim anyways.
*HINT *HINT *BLINK *BLINK checkout the dates on things next time, you dip-****. Also you might want to pick up a book for once in your life and learn how to "read" whats going on in the threads a bit better or learn to spell better... cause your name should have been spelled like this--> Stupid8790.
