Help with hallmarks
G'day all, I need some help finding some hallmark references to try
and date some old jewelery i have. I have googled for a couple of
hours without much success. I only came up with a ref. book called
"Bradbury's Book of Hallmarks" and can not view this online. It's
proberbly a long shot, but if anyone knows of any sites, i would
greatly appreciate your assistance. cheers...TidaLpasE23.........

G'day nihil, silver bracelet, looks pommy I have surfed for 5 hours and
found nothing. Maybe an old fashioned visit to the library is in order
I have uploaded a pic of it here, after looking at about 1000 of them online
i didn't see anything that even closely resembled it. I'm just curious to find
out it's age and where it was made, even more so now, very frustrating.

Wotcher TidaLphasE23,
Certainly NOT England, Scotland or Ireland with markings like those. I would also expect to see a number on it somewhere such as 925,975,800? (the % silver content) Ours would be 925 (sterling)
I will have a look around and get back to you
Cheers
Hi Tidal.
I think the object is called a "cuff bracelet" I would suggest that you look for sources on Egyptian silver (assay) marks.
The larger mark looks like a cat looking back over its tail, which is Egyptian. I cannot help with the date, but logically World War I (ANZACS at Gallipoli) or World War II Desert Campaign.
Hope this helps
