What if the world could vote...
What if the whole world could vote in the U.S. presidential election...?
Here's a site that makes an attempt at making it happen.
And no, I didn't mess with the Belgian results

Of course, the question is why are people voting for Kerry? Seems more of a reaction of what they don't want rather than what they do want (and that can sometimes get you elected as was recently evidenced in both the Ontario Provincial election and the Canadian federal elections).

People outside the USA will vote the way the media machine desires.

And people inside the USA won't? The media in the US is more "truthful" in their reporting?
Uh huh. Sure...

Of course they will vote toward media coverage. But living here and seeing first hand versus getting it only from news sources is a major difference. Heck all they have to do is watch 60 minutes or CNN and we know CNN is everywhere.

Foreigners have no right to vote for anything American! What is American stays American. I not a patriot bigot but its a princple that needs to be uplifted! Last time I heard the UN was trying to do that very thing . The day when foreigners run this country from bottom up will be when we will lose our "freedoms".

argh. its just an research .. cool down.
BTW, i think that most vote for Kerry just because there is only 2 options. Perhaps if there is 3 like Bush, Kerry or anybody else, anybody else will win....

Boy, that makes me feel all warm and fussy all over.
And what would happen if the whole world could vote in the European Union?

I've never understood that "seeing first hand"-thingy... I've heard that reply ("you are influenced by the media, you only know what you see in the media") one too many times - last time it was used for the entire Iraq-debate. What else do you base your judgement on? Personal interviews with both candidates or something?
Media abroad are usually way better at reporting objectively on American matters than American media are. I can watch CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS and all the others for 24 hours, hear ten different sides to a story, and still don't know the story itself. I usually have to get it from foreign media.
Kurt > Don't forget that 99% of Americans are "foreigners"
And non-Americans have every right to vote for whatever they want. It doesn't count, but they can vote all they want...
