KERRY POLL RANK LOWER THAN DUKAKIS, JESSE JACKSON, MARTHA STEWART, PUTIN
Tue Sep 14 2004 12:06:00 ET
In last week's WASHINGTON POST WABC NEWS Poll, John F. Kerry was viewed favorably by 36 percent of registered voters, down 18 points over the past six months.
But just how low Kerry's standing has fallen cannot be appreciated fully without comparing his standing with that of other household names in GALLUP polls over the years, the POST's Dana Milbank reported on Tuesday.
Kerry finds himself in a dead heat with Martha Stewart and Joseph McCarthy, and behind Herbert Hoover -- although he narrowly beats O.J. Simpson.

Hmmmm.... I wonder which poll old Drudge was referring to?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv.../charting.html
That poll here shows Bush leading 50% to 44%.
Among all registered voters, Bush leads Kerry 50 percent to 44 percent. Source
Unless there is another washington post I am not aware of... Of course the Drudge Report does not list a source so I am looking for a ABC news poll.
ABC poll? http://abcnews.go.com/sections/polit...ll_040829.html
Course I am not seeing the 36%. Of course if someone finds the poll that Matt Drudge found, then by all means please post it.
Edit: The above poll is dated August 30th.
Here is one from September 9th

I did see the MSN Slate article.
However, the Washington Post did not mention a link to their poll. (Like they have with thier previous polls) Strange.
Its also strange to me that they mention this:
In last week's Washington Post-ABC News Poll, John F. Kerry was viewed favorably by 36 percent of registered voters, down 18 points over the past six months.
They mention the poll they had last week.
Now this article http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2004Sep9.html is written on Sept 10th (which should of been after the poll data was out)
Ahhh wait I see where I was confused.
For the first time in a Post-ABC News poll this year, a majority of probable voters say they plan to vote for Bush. Among those most likely to vote in November, Bush holds a lead of 52 percent to 43 percent over Kerry, with independent Ralph Nader receiving 2 percent of the hypothetical vote. Among all registered voters, Bush leads Kerry 50 percent to 44 percent.
What I was looking at was the amount of registered voters that said they would actually vote for Bush or Kerry. (Which is 50% to 44%) Not the stat on how many people favored John Kerry.

If they called my house I would inform them that my vote goes for Daffy Duck.

CXGJarrod i did notice while searching for the article that although kerry lost a percentage of voters bush didn't gain any. i think the attack on his guard record will change that to his (bush's) advantage. even though kerry's team jumped on something they might have thought was true it's making them look very bad.
