Ads

I have been mesing with ADS (alternate data streams) for a few hours now and i was wornding if i could get some help with them. i am running winxp sp2. i created an ads i think by typing this in to the command prompt

C:\ads>echo > ads.txt:testads

this should have maide a ads for the .txt document ads.txt now i want to see the ads for ads.txt so i typed this into the command prompt

c:\ads>notepad ads.txt:testads

and i get an error message saying could not find file would you like to make one which you should get but then when i enter this in to the command prompt

c:\ads>notepad ads.txt:testads.txt

i get the same message when it should show me the ads any one know why this is.
