Basic question.

an issue has come up at work and we need a Mac user to be able to open files compressed with the built in XP compressed folder options.

I've found stuffit Expander which might be free but I can't get far enough into the site to check properly (doesn't seem to like XP/mozilla ).

Any other free zip tools?

StuffitEXpander is definetely the good one. You might wanna search for "serialbox" too ...

Here I found some //I have no mac so I cannot say that it works :( but you can try....//

The AusMac Archive is an Australian site offering an archive of Macintosh software mirrored from overseas to enable quicker downloads for users in the Asia/Pacific region. (http://www.ausmac.net/)

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/

You can find many free tools there. There's a search function too.

There's a built-in zip utility IN mac os x. Double-click on archives to expand, control-click and select "create archive of "..."" to make.
