Yes and the extra second will most certainly come in handy. i'm planning on using the extra second wisely. 
and to think i saw the name of the thread, and i was thinking it would be something about a computer or something..
Nihil you certainly know how to make misleading thread names..

Actually, there is a vague connection?
There has been some debate recently as to whether we go to Universal Standard Time (based on atomic clocks) and dump GMT (based on solar/planetary relationships).
Technologists favour UST for the ease of synchronisation of computers, GPS systems and so on. Astronomers and traditionalists favour GMT because it observes the traditional day/night approach, and the changes in our solar system.
I only thought about it because of the countdown to the new year......................the mere fact that I was pissht at the time had absolutely nothing to do with it.............honesht

I vote for Daylight Savings Time...only because it was invented by a Canadian
