Cell phone chain mail

OK, I am a little upset and wanted to vent. In the process, I'm hoping to get a little feeback.

So here's the deal, last night I received a Text Message on cell phone. Here's what it said (not the acutal number of course):

FW: From +13335551234 Msg: Fwd::This is FREAKY! its called mind reader. send it to 10 ppl then go 2 your Inbox and press * and it will say your lovers name

OK, so the person that sent it to me is an idiot anyway, but what I was suprised to see, was other people who are all friends with this person and myself, were forwarding it to me. COME ON! How dumb do you have to be to fall for something like this?!

The thing that ticks me off the most, is that I have to pay for Text Messages I receive and send. I assume, so do most of these people. I wonder if they are still waiting by their cell phones waiting for the thing to say their lovers name.

There are plent of stupid 'viral' txts going on over here (viral in this sense being of a sort people want to pass on, sometimes used as a marketing method).

But I've never had one so close to the stupid chain emails. You don't generally pay to recieve txt here either so I wouldn't be as annoyed as you I'd just delete them.

Why not txt your friends and say "UR an ID10T"

There is the suspicion (urban myth?) that the phone companies themselve create these messages to drum up business.

Well, I pay for txt messages to (in and out) and I understand how annoying that can be..but if they pay for incoming messages too, why dont you go to their providers site, see if you can send a txt from the site (free) and spam them for spaming you lol and eye for an eye
