people,

i dont know if it will make any difference. but i have finally finished the major part of the exams.

i am now a 1st mate in the shipping industry. "a chief officer", one of the top 4, incharge of the ship.
now its just a matter of applying for the certifcations and joining ship.

another 18months of sailing time and i will be applying for Master.

one of the interesting subjects we have is navigation. where we are taught to use a sextant, with which, given the time (GMT) and the angle of the sun. one can calculate his postion any where on earth.

plus it messes up all what you have learnt about solar system amd the universe.

like we (earth) and the planets moves around the sun, and sun moves around in our galaxy and the galaxy moves around in the milkyway and it goes on and on.
now imagine that the earth is the center of the universe and is stationary and everything moves around it.

am looking fwd to joining my last ship, where we were carrying 7000 tonnes of vodka from turkey to new york for bottling.

we never ran out of vodka

cheers

bagggi
chief mate.
