Using Windows, that shouldn't be a problem ;)

Sygate seems to be a pretty stable (and free!), leak-proof firewall, though...

But I guess you're looking for something like this: http://www.zdnetindia.com/print.html?iElementId=9335 ?

Labs tested the code and confirmed that it will open a back door in several personal firewalls
Wish they would name them all???
No mention of Zonealarm thou..
just norton's and sygate!!!

This news came out last year and affected many personal firewalls. Many of them were supposed to have patched this, though I don't know if they bothered. Note: version 4.0 of Sygate has fixed this.
Zone Alarm uses a application ID number, or something of that nature, so that just renaming the program does not change it's access rights.

Sorry nergal, I don't know the answer to your question though.

I would top it off and say yes, there is a way to crash anything.
