thanks SL and everyone else still battling with the problem have found one or two mentions of it so far..It was in my win.ini file and a couple of other spots and continue the battle..Days like this I wish my kids hadnt used my Windows O/S CD for a playtoy..anyone want some kids free.beginning to think I will have fork out a couple of hundred sooner than I wanted to for a new O/S cd.
