Gentlemen,

This is a problem that has been around for a long time. I quit football in my junior year in HS, thus pissing the coach off immensely. I focused on music, electronics, and computers. No one could ever explain to me why the band had to sell candy, etc. just to keep ends together, but the athletic department had new equipment every year, new uniforms, and so on. We had to make do with old instruments (tuba, drums, etc.) but they built a new football field the year after I graduated. Far as I can see, cheerleaders are cannonfodder for the jocks as rewards. Pro sports just promote violence and mindless activity. Yes, this does include wrestling! I surf the channels on weekends and think "What a waste of bandwidth!"
