well i think it is time that a child (i am 15 actually) input his voice into this conversation...

Don't you guys feel sorry for the kids that are forced into this stuff? Do you want it to continue happening? Hopefully, the answer is no. The main problem is that there are to many child porn websites out there and not all of them can be shut down. I believe we as a community should take action in some way. We are knowledgable when it comes to internet security and we must protect ourselves and help protect our childern from this stuff. I am not saying go and attack every child porn website, but what i would like to see happen is that if anyone ever comes accross one or finds a source of child porn that they report it immedietly to the FBI and ask that it be shut down. Rioter, most AO members see that you are a senior member here and respect you for holding that position. However, if you are going to support child porn even if you are just messing with us, i ask that you leave AO. Child porn is extremely sick and we need to do everything within our knowledge to help put an end to this type of pornography....thanks for listening to what a kid has to say on that matter and i hope you all take action

The answer to the question of getting rid of child porn is so bluntly obvious that it's almost a rhetorical question. Kiddie porn is awful awful awful awful. It has to stop. period.

omg! Anyone who looks at that trash deserves to be thrown in prison! It is disturbing to think that anyone would use a child like that! However, you can't break the law, because they are breaking the law... It makes you no better than them! What you can do, is get the url and give it to the authorities... I'm not sure if you are allowed to "spy" on the site's activites like "net traffic" but that would be helpful if ya could... then hand over all the info to the authorities... I'm not sure if thats legal, but I'm sure that reporting the url is a great service as it is

In case your wondering why I'm asking this question... it's not because I spend much time thinking about it but here in the UK on Ch4 there was a documentary series recently about the age of consent and minors having sex so the subject is still fairly fresh in my mind. I'd just like to hear the opinions of folks round here
sex with a minor in the UK is not only regarded as paedophilia but also anyone under the age of consent is deemed to not really know what they are doing in that way so it is also statutory rape. This I think is unfair esp in N.Ireland the one place in the UK where the age of consnet is 17 not 16. I do not think ayone will say that a 16yr old does not know what sex is(!?)
But yet when I was younger (17) i had sex with my girlfriend at the time who was 16 - so I was commiting this offence.

Am not saying that the age of consent should be lowered but perhaps a new piece of legislation brought in to govern sex between people close to the same age. So say someone who is 17/18 sleeps with a 16yr old where both people are consenting - the 17/18yr old should not be convicted the same as a 40 something person who is doing so.

It is a difficult area as who is to say the 40 something person does not care for the 16yr old the same as the 17/18yr old does?? and then where would it stop? 20 isn't far from 16 should that be allowed to? and so on........it is a difficult thing to form any kind of legislation for.
but one thing for cetain the term of statutory rape is one that is very out-dated - with the current trend of teens having pre-marital sex earlier and earlier it is stupid to say a 16yr old does not know what it is.....also with the rise in teen pregnancys those mothers under the age of consent are having to leave the fathers name off the birth certificate due to fears about the ramifications - this is just plain silly IMHO

    Hi Val,

I suppose it all has to do with the "age of puberty"...all I can say that unless you are a "royal" or something, under teen age has to be out?

I really wonder who is negging our little friend who started this thread?......hah! perhaps we have caught some of them out of the woodwork, so to speak?

Perhaps they would post why they negged?

Perhaps the moon is made of Swiss Cheese?

    Cheers

I havnt actually made any antipoint assignments on this thread, but i cant think of a few reasons.

    1) It is posted under 'Newbie security questions'. This thread doesnt mention anything to do with network security, unless you wish to link it with child pornographers breaking into networks to distribute their filth.

    2) The question is so rhetorical it begs asking "why post it?". Furthermore, it is just a question. Now, a question with "Personaly, i think.." added to it at least gives you something to think about, all this really presents is an excuse to say 'yes' (well, ignoring RiOtErs' post..)

    3) Many people may assume that by 'stop' , the author means attack. Again, the post itself is so empty/bland, there is no evidence to support or contradict this - it is left up to the reader.
