So what is stupid then?

I'm in the Middle East too .... In UAE for a vacation ... The ISP has blocked only those yahoo profiles with adult contents ....... They've blocked most of the anonymous proxy servers too...... Anyway if ur hungry for Porn, hacking tutorials and stuffs the isp doesnt want u to access, get urself a P2P application. I use Shareaza ! ..... Those guys (till now) can't do anything to stop this and technically i think there's no way to stop file sharing ( correct me if i'm wrong !) ... Don't do anything stupid here.... The cyber laws are kindda strict here !
So what if they decide to investigate you as they suspect you're using P2P software? They may find the porn, hacking tutorials, etc that you've looked at on your hard drive! Where would you be then? In jail, or worse?
Hmmm ... me thinks this is advice I would choose to disregard. Personally I would keep within the rules, reulations and law of the land. That way I'd be safe!
[EDIT]
Nihil beat me to it - well done!

Tomorrow is another day for yesterdays work!

This is about learning, guys! If I let someone do something for me, well that's another thing.
For me, there is too much to learn in this arena, and I'll start for it when I go back to my country.
And one more thing, I don't like to assume too much at this stage ('Coz assumption is the mother of all f****** ), maybe it is better to learn one step at a time. It is safe to say that I am still young about security and stuffs like this.
I will try my best to stick to the rules while I am here in the Mid-East!

I attend a boarding school in the US our internet is so filtered its not worth using. I'm having trouble getting software for my computer, researching for projects etc. When I tried to talk to the technology department they were very rude and accsed me of being a porn junky, and were not at all helpful. I'm at home on vacation from school at the moment but I was wondering if their is an easy way around the blocks. They provide the computers so they can monter our uses extremely well, but the blocks are getting on my nerves... Even this site is blocked, (Reason: "Security Risk")
Heres a link to their device: http://www.k12usa.com/secureapp.asp

Some admins use outdated and incorrect lists, and do not update them.
Other systems use keyword/generics. So "Anti" might ring bells.
If this is genuinely hindering your academic activities then just gather some examples, and go to your Academic Staff.
Just remember IT IS THEIR SYSTEM, so don't try to get round it, you will only get your privileges removed.
