i bet Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman never saw that one coming. the bad guys encrypting the good guys data and demanding money for the decrypt key. i thought it was pretty funny.

i also found it a little rattling at how fast the "secuirty experts" managed to "break" the encryption and give the guy his files back.

were the black hats complete idiots and had no clue how to use encryption efficiently or are the rumors true - the encryption vendors give backdoor keys to law enforcement for all thier products they release.
