Usually running sfc (system file checker) will fix this problem. Note, however, you must have a valid Windows XP disc available to complete the process. To run it, open the command prompt (cmd from the Run menu). Typically, cmd should run. Then type the lines below. If cmd doesn't open, run them manually from the Run menu.
That should resolve the problem. It's not a virus. It's a corruption in your Windows. I've seen it multiple times and sfc is the quickest way to fix it.Code:sfc /purgecache sfc /scannow
